Digital X-rays
Digital X-rays require no chemicals to fix or develop the film. Traditional x-rays not only require the chemicals to develop, but also are manufactured with a lead foil in the package. Eliminating traditional film eliminates the lead waste and toxic chemicals. Digital x-rays also emit a small fraction of radiation compared to traditional film x-rays. By using digital radiography we are eliminating the need for chemicals, lead, and disposables to sit in a landfill.
Steam Autoclave
Our state of the art steam autoclave is another way that we are being environmentally friendly. The steam autoclave sterilizes our instruments using heat, pressure, and steam. Indianapolis Downtown Dentistry feels that there is no need to use chemicals when there is another process that can completely sterilize instruments.
Electronic Charts
Electronic charts are a paperless way of keeping every single patient record. In the past, we have had a cardboard chart filled with many papers to keep your dental chart. With the advances in dental software and digital x-rays we no longer have to use so much paper. Not only are we saving trees, we are also reducing waste in landfills.
